Jo Loves X Space NK

Jo Loves X Space NK

The chance to meet a bonafide scent genius doesn't come along very often. The chance to meet Jo Malone in your local Space NK comes around even less often. So when I heard that the lady herself was out on a tour of the country's Space NK's to talk about everything from her fragrance stories to how her new brand - Jo Loves - came about, I was all over that with bells on.

On a cold night last week I headed along to Glasgow's Princes Square and my local Space NK store, to be greeted by a glass of bubbly and a lovely scent. Since Space NK have become the latest stockists of Jo Loves - taking the brand throughout the UK -  it made sense that the lovely smell was a combination of the fragrances already in the range. Once I had unloaded my bag an coat (did I mention it was suuuuper cold?), I went for a wander around the store, following my nose to the Jo Loves section and the reason I was out and about on a Thursday in the first place.

Not long after, Jo came out and began to chat, telling us story after story about how the brand came into existence. And the woman can tell a story. Each of her fragrances has a story of how it came into being, the first of which was Pomelo, Jo's signature scent. As she talked us through the holiday that inspired the scent, a sample was passed around, and the bright, energising fragrance hit us all. There's something a little mannish about Pomelo which makes it that little bit more appealing. It lasts on the skin for such a long time, and is citrusy and fruity at the same time. I could almost believe I was on holiday myself with one sniff.

The evening continued with the 'Fragrance Tapas Bar', another unique concept to Jo Loves. A new way to experience fragrance, scents were delivered in cocktail glasses, as canapés and were painted on with paintbrushes. It was a totally new way to experience scent, and a great way to try more than one without confusing your nose.

I didn't have time to stay at the event much longer, but I did notice that the lovely Jo was taking the time to speak to each and every person who wanted to meet her. I also had enough time to drop some cash on a new perfume for myself (Pomelo of course), and was gifted a beautiful white rose on my way out - a symbol of friendship and one of Jo's favourite flowers.

The brand has launched to Space NK, and can be found online and in store. The entire range is more than worth checking out. As well as Pomelo I'm loving Red Truffle 21 and Green Orange and Coriander. Check out the range here.
