Bobbi Brown Skincare
For as long as I can remember, I've known how important a skincare routine is. My mum has the most amazing skin for a woman in her 60's, and a huge part of this is her devotion to cream. And now she's infected me. I love skincare!
I normally stick to the few products that I know I like. Trying new things, especially if they cost quite a bit of money, makes me nervous. What's the point of trying new things, if I know what I like already? But for Christmas I received a few bits from Bobbi Brown to try.
The products I got were the Hydrating Face Cream, the Hydrating Eye Cream, and the Soothing Cleansing Oil. I don't have the driest skin, and was a little nervous of trying them out since thicker creams tend to clog my skin up. But I gave it a go!
The face cream itself is quite dense. Although it is meant to be used both day and night, I decided to keep using my normal day cream and stick to the Bobbi Brown for night time use. I wasn't too keen on the texture, it seems a little gloopy and takes quite a while to sink into my skin. But what it does for my face? Wow. Like I said, I didn't think I had particularly dry skin, but maybe the time of year has dehydrated it enough to need some serious care time. The same goes for the eye cream, I don't love the texture but my skin is super soft and clear.
As for the Cleansing Oil, I can't say I'm a fan. It's one of the most popular Bobbi Brown skin products out there, and I know so many people who love it, but it just isn't for me. I tend to go for gel based makeup removers (the Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel is the bar that I hold everything up to). So putting an oil on my face just isn't something I can get my head around. It feels too slick on my skin, and I really dislike the way my skin feels aftwerwards. All in all, not a product I'll be repurchasing.
I'd definitely use the face cream and eye cream again, maybe next winter when my skin is feeling tired and dehydrated. I definitely won't be using them in the summer months, but I'm impressed all the same! Now, to find something else to try!
