Woodland Light Experience

Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to the preview evening of the Woodland Light Experience in Balfron, near Glasgow. After a small adventure on country roads (there were a few U-turns involved), my friend and I found ourselves in a secluded woodland space, free of light and sound pollution, totally immersed in a new, colourful and exciting nighttime adventure.

In it's second year, the Woodland Light Experience is hosted by the Hendry family, on 14 acres of beautiful secluded farmland. Each year is themed, with this years' being 'Transitions'. We found ourselves walking through woods in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, with lights (and sound effects!) to match. I never thought I'd find myself in the middle of nowhere, in the pitch dark, looking at multi coloured lights whilst Bryan Adams blasted out on invisible speakers. Definitely something to try.

The event is the ideal family night out, catering for adults and children alike. Who wouldn't want glow in the dark face paint?? UV lights make the most of this, and was so pretty! I can imagine this being super popular with any kiddies going along.

For anyone hungry after the 1.3km stroll can indulge in snacks provided by the local butcher! All in all, I couldn't recommend a trip to the Woodland Light Experience more. The perfect night for family and friends, it's well worth a few wrong turns on country roads!
