Saving My Skin With The Body Shop
It might not have been the harshest of winters. There might not have been tons of snow, ice or harsh winds. But my skin suffers during the winter months regardless of the weather. Call it the change in temperature or lack of sunlight, but by the time February rolled around this year, my skin was dry, rough and grey. Yup, definitely lost my glow.
I popped into The Body Shop in the midst of my skin crisis, and there was the new Almond Milk and Honey range, calling me to it. Practically dragging me to it. The thing I love about The Body Shop is the fact that you can try before you buy. And not just one or two products. I threw it all on. The helpful sales assistant filled me in: The new range is perfect for those with sensitive and dry skin. The blend of almond milk and honey leaves a subtle but delicious scent on the skin, and isn't too heavy to clash with any fragrances or cause flare ups to those with sensitivity. There are no colourants, mineral oil or petrolium, and the range is dermatologically tested and totally vegetarian. The ingredients are super simple and ethically sourced, and totally natural. Perfect, right?
I was immediately attracted to the packaging. With a simple white label, and the traditional Body Shop logo, the products are advertised as they are. I was instantly attracted to the gift set, since I knew I wanted to try as many products as possible. The set I got included the bath milk, shower cream, body butter and hand cream. It was only £30, which I think is a total bargain! If this is a little expensive, there's a similar set for £20 on the website.
By far, my hero product from the range has been the Shower Cream. To buy on its own it only costs £5 for 250ml. Because it seemed quite milky, I didn't expect it to lather well, but it definitely did! Instead of my skin feeling quite dehydrated by the shower, the cream left it feeling moisturised and nourished. Combined with the Body Butter (£6), in the space of only a few uses my skin feels smooth, healthy and ready to see the world again!
